: Pete, thanks for the update about the flag and the status after "Bill".. I must ask, as the curiousity has bugged me for some time now.. How are you getting in to the LH to replace the flags? It appears from the last time I saw it, that the entry had been boarded up and the other looked as though it had been bricked over?? Also, do you have any photos of the current deterioration? It's not something I WANT to see, but I think it's something that NEEDS to be seen, if for no other reason than to hopefully spark some interest and action.
: Thanks for taking care of the flags!!!
: Christi

: No pictures as the vistits are done at night. Although no signs are posted, presume that if a trip was made during the daytime it might cause a problem. As to how getting to the top is done.........??????

: : On June 28, 2003 a fresh flag was placed at the top of the light using the original flag pole. The pole and flag made it through tropical storm Bill. This is the fourth flag to fly from the top since May 5, 2001. Spotted numerous fallen bricks and noticed serious deteriation with the iron work up top since last visit.
: : The large crack visible from the outside on the east side of the light is easy spotted on the inside. Plenty of air flows through.
